Welcoming Two New Community Representatives

Sinouen (second from left) and Chantha (third from left) are welcomed into their new roles as CCF community representatives. We talk a lot at Cambodian Children’s Fund about the life-changing transformations of children, but our work is designed to help the entire family – including adults. There will be two new – but familiar – faces helping in the Steung Meanchey area. Sinouen and Chantha both live in the area and started working at CCF a while ago. Now, they’ve taken on new roles working as community representatives. These representatives are part social worker and part teacher, as they inform the community on health and rights, while also helping those in need. Sinouen started working as CCF as a cleaner a year ago. Chantha began at CCF’s garment factory, which provides women with a safe place to work while children are at school. After six months of training she moved on to being a bag maker - a position she held for three years. Both of the new representatives, and other staff members recently received training from the Cambodian Center for Human Rights, a non-partisan NGO working to protect democracy and respect for human rights. They will use what they learned from the training to teach their community.
