An IPad Competitor?

The IPad and its electronic companions are undoubtedly icons of the modern age. When they have appeared in the hands of visitors at CCF's dump-edge community centre they have caused a wide-eyed stir among the finger-prodding inquisitives of the daycare and satellite school communities. But the eyes widened even more and the stir was a thousand times more real when the latter discovered a new structure embedded in their playground; a slide. A big, shiny, climb-all-over- it, push-your-friend-down-it, climb-it-don't-slide-it shriek inducing slide. In the eyes of its clients and fans, it has almost every modern virtue; a carbon-neutral footprint, energy efficiency in its harnessing and linking of gravity and muscle power as well as endless opportunities for social networking. It also demands personal commitment, attention investment and ongoing situation management. The slide has it all. So who needs an IPad when you've got an ISlide, except maybe as a cushion against those hard landings? At CCF5, ISlide rules, ok? 5.7.2011.Story1.Photo1 5.7.2011.Story1.Photo3 5.7.2011.Story1.Photo2 5.7.2011.Story1.Photo4
