Transformation Tuesday: Lika

“My parents moved to Steung Meanchey before I was born to work in construction, because they couldn’t survive on the money from the rice harvest in their village in the countryside. Construction was hard work but not well paid, and they didn’t have a home so they slept at different construction sites, always moving.

“My father still works in construction, but we have a home now. My parents rented some cheap land and built it themselves. It’s small but it’s ours. My parents were both so happy when they found out that I could study with CCF. I love learning English – I think it might be my favourite subject because it will help me achieve my big dreams.”
