Filmed in 2022 and 2023 these five videos capture the long-lived stories of CCF grannies.
Student Led Project
A group of CCF students conducted interviews with the ten oldest grannies who are members of our granny program. From these interviews, they selected five inspiring stories and made short documentaries on them.
Thanks to funding from the New Zealand Embassy in Thailand, the students were able to work with a local production company to take the selected grannies back to their home province where they grew up. There, they conducted in-depth interviews with the grannies about their pasts, favourite memories, and significant moments.
All these women survived the horrors of the Khmer Rouge, and all ended up in their later years of life as garbage scavengers on the Steung Meanchey garbage dump.
