Having the chance to see beyond their own community and country has huge benefits for our students, many of whom would never otherwise see the wider world.
So you can imagine how excited nine of our students were when it was revealed last month that they had been selected to travel to America for the Tony Robbins Global Youth Leadership Summit (GYLS) 2023.
I want to learn about how to be a good leader with good teamwork and empathy
They’ll be heading to San Diego in California in July for the four-day event which helps shape today’s youth to become tomorrow’s leaders, one of our core aims too.
This will be the 15th year that our students have been able to participate, thanks to GYLS and the Tony Robbins Foundation.
It’s a truly life-changing experience. Many CCF students who attend return transformed with more confidence and self-belief.
“I’m so excited, and my parents are very happy for me,” says Ly Hour, 16, one of two CCF boys chosen. “I want to learn about how to be a good leader with good teamwork and empathy.”
Chan Rithy Ya, 16, a Grade 11 student, is looking forward to meeting new people.
“I want to share my culture with others and learn about new cultures from them. I can make new friends and build my knowledge and experience.”
