Wing Bank Empower Girls in STEM

Partnership launch to give the most at-risk girls in Cambodia access to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math education and internship opportunities.

Girls from one of the most impoverished communities in Cambodia are being empowered to study STEM subjects and access internship opportunities, thanks to a partnership with Cambodian Children’s Fund (CCF) and Wing Bank.

Wing Bank (Cambodia) Plc, one of Cambodia’s fastest-growing digital banks, has given $72,807 to sponsor a STEM Education Program for Girls at CCF’s Tomorrow Academy secondary school in Steung Meanchey.

Around 138 of Cambodia’s most vulnerable children currently study full-time at Tomorrow Academy, 88 of which are girls.

Thanks to a generous contribution of $72,807 from Wing Bank, this initiative will support 138 students at CCF, including 88 girls.

With Wing Bank’s generous support, these girls can study STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) subjects, on a pathway to careers in these fields.

Wing’s funding will buy 33 laptops for Tomorrow Academy students.

In addition, 10 CCF university students will be offered internships with Wing Back annually, along with financial support during the three-year partnership.

Girls in Cambodia are still underrepresented in science and technology industries.

CCF is excited to work with partners like Wing Bank to champion the development of STEM opportunities for girls in the country, creating an enlightened generation equipped with the skills to instigate change.
