Teddy Bears Arrive at Day Care

More than 100 kids at Cambodian Children’s Fund’s day care were the recipients of new teddy bears, lovingly handmade by the grandmother of a volunteer. The kids were overjoyed to receive the new toys, with each bear adorned in unique outfits Sarah, from the Australian College of Physical Education, is at CCF for six months to work with the kids and incorporate fun physical fitness into their routines. Her parents came in from Australia with bags of the teddy bears and helped distribute them to the kids. The toddlers in CCF’s nursery program also received the bears, although some napped through the festivities that included a “teddy bear picnic” and themed stories and songs about bears. While they slept, the bears were placed next to them for when they woke up. CCF’s day care program provides a safe place for children to stay during the day. Kids are given nutritious meals and attentive medical care as needed. To top it off, they get access to plenty of toys. DSC_3291-605x359
