2024 marked a milestone for the Cambodian Children’s Fund (CCF), celebrating 20 years of transforming the lives of children and communities in Cambodia.
The year-long celebrations highlighted achievements, honoured supporters, and showcased the generosity that makes CCF’s work possible.
A standout moment came on 28 May when His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni attended a ceremony as the guest of honour at the Neeson Cripps Academy (NCA) in Steung Meanchey.
Cambodian Children’s Fund has transformed lives, and today we honour those who make this possible
The King praised CCF’s two decades of service to vulnerable children, presented awards to staff and donors in recognition of their outstanding contributions, and made a generous donation of US$5,000, 20 tons of rice, 500 boxes of noodles, and 250 packs of canned fish.
“The Cambodian Children’s Fund has transformed lives, and today we honour those who make this possible,” said His Majesty during the ceremony.
“Every year, thousands of poor Cambodian children are assisted in obtaining education, maintenance, and support to acquire a wealth of knowledge.”
His Majesty also toured the NCA and a fair showcasing the work of CCF students in science and technology, art and design, 3D and motion capture, and Khmer poetry.
500 people attended the festivities to commemorate CCF's remarkable journey since its beginning in 2004, including religious leaders, ministry officials, ambassadors, dignitaries, and supporters from overseas and in Cambodia.
His Majesty presented awards and honours to CCF staff, including Founder Scott Neeson, to recognise their contribution to the organisation’s success.
Your genuine compassion for Cambodian children is inspiring
Earlier, Her Excellency Pich Chanmony, wife of Prime Minister Hun Manet, opened the celebrations on 26 May, delivering a speech praising CCF’s dedication and urging continued philanthropic support. She also toured a street festival organized by CCF, connecting with students, families, and elders in the community.
Her Excellency said Scott Neeson’s “genuine compassion for Cambodian children and dedication” had inspired her and her husband to support CCF’s mission.
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Scott,” said Her Excellency.
Speaking at the event, Scott Neeson, the former Hollywood executive who gave up his career to start CCF, said he could never have imagined what would be achieved.
It started with one eight-year-old girl...today, we have around 2,000 children working towards a better life
“We have expanded our reach to provide education, healthcare, and community support to impact more than 155,000 lives, which is remarkable.”
More than 3,000 CCF students, family members, and invited guests enjoyed the street celebrations held in Steung Meanchey around the NCA.
Princess Jenna was the headline act among top-name singers performing on a community stage.
The street festival was a huge hit with staff and guests
As well as CCF's beloved grannies
Throughout 2024, students, alumni, staff, supporters, and donors came together to reflect on achievements, celebrate milestones, and share inspiring stories of transformation.
Celebrations were held across the globe as CCF’s international family came together in key regions to honour the incredible milestone.
CCF shows what’s possible when community, generosity, and vision come together
The 20th anniversary was a celebration of the past and a call to the future. CCF remains committed to providing children in Cambodia with access to education, healthcare, and safe spaces to learn and grow — ensuring the next 20 years continue to inspire, empower, and transform lives.
“CCF shows what’s possible when community, generosity, and vision come together,” said Scott Neeson, CCF Founder.
As we celebrate 20 years, this timeline honors the milestones, the stories, and the extraordinary spirit of the children, grannies, families, and supporters who made it all possible.
