Early Childhood Teacher Trainer
The role
The Early Childhood Teacher Trainer will work with CCF staff to develop and deliver engaging training sessions on methods and teaching strategies based on our science and mathematics curriculum. This will involve working with staff and teaching assistants to identify and deliver possible training needs, all while being aware of the context we are working with in Cambodia.
Activities can include:
- Develop and deliver engaging training sessions on methods and teaching strategies based on our science and mathematics curriculum.
- Support our early childhood educators in implementing play-based learning in science and mathematics with 3, 4 and 5 year- old children.
- Provide mentorship and support by working alongside individual and groups of teachers as they implement new ways of teaching science and mathematics to young children.
- Develop, create and design teaching aids and resources for science and mathematics.
- Foster an inclusive learning environment that accommodates diverse learning needs.
- Promote social inclusion within the educational framework.
- Collaborate with educational institutions and community organizations to enhance teaching practices.
WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
- Six teachers, teacher assistants and the ECE Coordinator
OUTCOMES
- CCF will be able to better support students with physical and mental disabilities
- Caregivers will be more aware of how students with disabilities can succeed in learning
REQUIREMENTS
- Exhibits a strong commitment to inclusive education and social equity.
- Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Showcases a caring and empathetic approach towards young children from diverse backgrounds.
Qualifications:
- Holds a recognised qualification in Early Childhood Education
Experience:
- Demonstrates extensive experience in early childhood education, particularly in science and mathematics
Desirable Additional Skills:
The recruiting panel will need to feel confident that the successful candidate understands CCF values and demonstrates associated behaviours.
- Be able to volunteer for a period of at least 3 months
- Able to demonstrate CCF values in day-to-day work
- Work well in a team, particularly within different cultures
- Motivated self-starter
- Responsible and accountable
- Report on expected outcomes of placement activities and share any produced materials with CCF
OTHER BITS & PIECES
At CCF we care for a lot of children and their families, but we also care about you. To ensure that everyone is safe we require all confirmed volunteers to provide the following before they arrive at CCF:
- A federal level police screening from your country of residence to ensure you are safe to work with children
- Two references we can contact for additional background checks
- Copy of your valid passport
- A passport photo
- Proof of your relevant qualifications
- Health insurance for the duration of your placement at CCF (medical evacuation coverage at a minimum)
