CCF Arts Grants
The CATA:LIST Seed Grant supports Cambodian based creative projects and is intended for Cambodian nationals, or to impact the professional development of Cambodian nationals.
The 2020 CCF CATA:LIST Seed Grant has been made possible due to funds raised by Singapore Ambassador to Cambodia Michael Tan, and and Stella Toh, chair person of Street Art Fest ++ as apart of the two-week arts festival to celebrate the 55th anniversary of Singapore-Cambodia diplomatic relations.
In continuation of this spirit of collaboration, this third year of CCF's CATA:LIST Seed Grants, will award grants for the development of arts projects that cooperate and partner with CCF in some way.
⠀
The 2020 CCF CATA:LIST Seed Grant will distribute five grants up-to USD $3,000 for projects in all artistic disciplines.
⠀
The CATA:LIST Seed Grant supports Cambodian based creative projects and is intended for Cambodian nationals, or to impact the professional development of Cambodian nationals.
CCF aims to play a leading role in facilitating environments which encourage creativity, and ensure that Cambodia’s (re)emerging arts communities are able to access resources and audiences.
Eligible applicants will work in the arts, for us defined as: architecture, design and fashion, film, music, dance and theatre, creative economy, cultural skills, literature, visual arts, and/or any combination of art forms.
We are keen to hear from female artists, artists that incorporate digital technology within their practice and artists who are experimenting with traditional art forms. However, these are not overriding factors for selecting grantees and all emerging artists are encouraged to apply if they match the eligibility criteria.

Based on feedback from previous CATA:LIST Seed Grant applicants we have simplified the application process. This year there will be an ongoing selection process with an initial submission of project idea, followed by project development meetings with the CCF grants team.
After initial project development a formal submission for funding will be submitted to the CATA:LIST Seed Grant team. Initial invitation for project Development meetings does not guarantee the CATA:LIST Seed Grant will be awarded.
⠀
Submission of applications will be accepted from December 1, 2020 until March 31, 2021.
⠀
It is advised that you contact the CATA:LIST team as early as possible to discuss your project idea. Grants will be awarded on a rolling basis.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is the grant solely for beneficiaries or individuals connected to CCF?
A: NO. The grant is open nationwide to any Cambodian artist or collective or any national project that impacts the professional development of Cambodian artists.
Q: Does there have to be any engagement with CCF in regards to the implementation of the project?
A: YES. CCF is keen to engage the community we serve in the arts, and where financially and logistically possible, we would like to see funded projects presented in some way, shape or form at CCF or co-produced with CCF for an external audience.
This is a significant change to previous years and if there are any questions on this please contact the grants team prior to submitting an application.
Q: Is there an upper age limit to those who can apply?
A: NO. The focus is on emerging artists and thus it is assumed applicants will be young adults in a developmental phase of their career. The aim of the grant is to support those emerging artists’ access to resources and audiences to generate a sustainable arts practice.
Q: Is the grant available to masters of their craft who need financial support for their arts practice?
A: NO. While CCF is keen to support the future and development of traditional artists, those that already have a long standing career in the arts are not directly eligible to apply. However, emerging artists that are working in traditional art forms are encouraged to apply.
Although currently unclear how such a project would be implemented to align with the grant criteria, CCF will happily accept applications where there is a partnership between established artists and emerging artists, as long as there is a clearly defined pathway to generate the sustainable arts practice of the emerging artists.
Q: Can the grant to be used to buy equipment/supplies, pay salaries, and/or cover overheads on project implementation?
A: YES. The percentage of how much of the grant can be used for these will be reviewed on a case by case basis. CCF has not set restriction on how much can be applied to these needs. However, applications should clearly indicate how these expenses support the overall sustainable practice and future developments of the artists’ career.
Q: Who is on the awarding committee?
A: The CATA:LIST Seed Grant awarding committee comprises of CCF’s Grants Manager, Grants Supervisor, and Projects Coordinator.
Q: Can I submit more than one application?
A: Yes. You can submit multiple applications. However, if successful, only one project per applicant will be awarded.
