A Safe Learning Space at CCF

In Steung Meanchey, CCF students struggle to find a safe and quiet place to study after school. We are so happy to announce the opening of a Safe Learning Space right in the heart of the former garbage dump community at one of our Satellite schools. safelearningspace As students reach Grades 11 and 12, access to a focused study spaces becomes more and more important as they prepare for final exams. Their home lives are unsuitable for quiet study as they are often overcrowded and unsanitary. SafeLearningSpacewebsite4 The Safe Learning Space - with a study lounge and a common garden area - will provide students with access to a quiet, clean location to study and do homework. The common garden area is a place for students to use during breaks and provides an alternative daytime environment for individual or group study. The area contains outdoor seating in the shade, a small section of artificial grass, bathrooms and raised beds for planting edible gardens. SafeLearningSpacewebsite3 The indoor study lounge will provide a much-needed safe, comfortable and well-resourced study area for individual and group study. The lounge provides access to master copies of all Khmer text books and other study materials including paper, pens and markers. SafeLearningSpacewebsite1 A very big thank you to our supporters for making this possible: The Fell Foundation Rosy and John Sullivan Ros and Peter Stirling
