Many of our programs grow unexpectedly when a need suddenly arises. One such case is the Subsidised Rice Program, created in early 2008 when the price of rice in Cambodia rose dramatically due to the worldwide grain crisis. The program continues today.
The parents of CCF children, as well as the community, can buy rice at below wholesale market prices. CCF gives families in the area vouchers which they can redeem for up to five kilograms of rice at our Community Centre. The voucher system helps us identify those with the greatest need, register the family in our records and provide follow-up care and monitoring.
