Transformation Tuesday: Addison

Transformation doesn’t only happen to our students – sometimes our supporters are transformed as well, like eight year old Addison from Australia. Her family sponsors Mony (ten years old) and the two have become close cross-continental friends. So when Addison heard that Mony needed help after a disaster, she sprang into action.

“Mony and I have been pen pals for a year and a half and we email about what we are doing at school and the things we love to do. I was so lucky to be able to visit Mony with my family in January this year. We played all afternoon and ate ice cream. It was the best day but it was so sad to say goodbye.

“Recently a fire burnt down a lot of homes in the Steung Meanchey community and one of them was Mony’s home. Fortunately Mony and her little sister can stay with CCF for a while but I wanted to help raise money to rebuild a home for Mony’s family.”

‘Fundraising by selling cup cakes & running a fun run’

Addison set up a fundraising site and ran the 4km Chevron City to Surf fun run recently, and between that and selling cupcakes she has raised a whopping $1,273. We think you are amazing, Addison, and we’re so impressed by everything that you’ve done for your friend Mony.
