SHINee Brightens the day at CCF

SHINee, Korea’s best known and multi-award winning boy band, brightened every CCF fan’s day by making a surprise afternoon appearance on CCF1’s rooftop stage in late February. The band – formed in 2008 and consisting of members Lee Jinki, Kim Jonghyun, Kim Kibum, Choi Minho and Lee Taemin – has become popular among Cambodian teens through its music videos, particularly for the song “Ring Ding Dong.” In Phnom Penh to perform their first ever Cambodian concert, the international style icons singled out CCF as a Cambodian cause they wanted to support, and they came in person to do so.

Surrounded by enthusiasm that was matched in musical decibels, SHINee was treated to a song composed and sung by CCF1’s very own boy band before they presented CCF with a donation check for $10,000.

SHINee’s generous gift was followed with an invitation for 20 CCF student VIP guests to attend the one night only sell-out event in Phnom Penh’s Olympic Stadium. Asked after the concert which of the famous five was her favorite, one of the concert-goers could only sigh, distant-eyed and smiling, “I don’t know, I don’t know . . . I just love them all!”
