Michal & Dorota, from Poland, became aware of CCF and its work only a few months ago, while they were planning a long dreamed of and saved for trip to South East Asia. What they learned made them determined to do what they could to help. They knew that medical supplies are always needed and can make a real difference.
After making contact with CCF and agreeing a plan and a visit, they moved into action. Among their friends and in their workplaces they collected an assortment of carefully chosen medical supplies, including drugs, swabs and dressings, and, sacrificing the sort of space that many travellers just can't live without, they crammed the goods into their backpacks which they then personally carried on their trip from Poland to Cambodia.
Within hours of their visit the gifts they left were being used in CCF's Medical Centre on the edge of the old dump. ''We're not rich,' they said, "but we were sure we could help." They were right. And their kindness has ensured them not just CCF's gratitude, but the thanks of those who have directly benefitted from their determination not just to think about helping, but to act.
