Homeless World Cup 2017: Muth Sakpich

CCF football player Muth Sakpich is heading to the annual Homeless World Cup (HWC) to represent Cambodia in a 48 Nations football tournament in Olso, Norway this August. The Cambodian team is managed by CCF partner Happy Football Cambodia Australia (HFCA) and HFCA has been taking CCF players to the HWC since 2010.

“My parents were born in Kampong Speu province. After my mother died, we moved to Phnom Penh in 2007, and my father remarried not long after. I wasn’t very good at football when I was younger, but I really enjoyed playing. I heard about the CCF football program from one of CCF’s staff, and it sounded like a great opportunity, so I signed up. Life is much better now that I have football to look forward to!

“I am so happy to have been selected to represent Cambodia in the Homeless World Cup. I can’t wait to travel to Oslo and meet with other football players from around the world.”
