CCF is fortunate to have a growing array of passionate supporters. That band is increasingly taking on an international flavor, with support growing particularly noticeably in Australia and the UK and offers of help now coming from as far afield as Italy and Taiwan. The most recent location to respond to CCF’s need is Hong Kong, where key supporters recently came together to run a series of fundraisers. Scott was on hand throughout and during his stay addressed a variety of keen and genuinely interested audiences.

One of Scott’s passions is photography. Ever since CCF’s inception, his camera has been worked hard, capturing images by the thousand. But a good photograph can do more than catch pictures and instants in time, it can grasp an emotion, the magic or anguish of a moment, and take you there, into that place or heart. A CCF family’s move into a new home; the gift of a new pair of shoes in a landscape of rubble and risk; the shy desperation of a ragged garbage-seeking girl: all have been transfixed and brought behind Scott’s camera shutter. During his trip to Hong Kong Picture This, an art gallery in the centre of the city, was the site of an exhibition of some of Scott’s most effective photos.

The exhibition wasn’t only to illustrate CCF but to support it. As the evening ended the photographs were auctioned to an audience that was both generous and appreciative. The sum raised will go to help make sure that the grim images which some of the shots portray will be a thing of the past and the smiles and joy in others will be the way of the future for growing numbers of CCF kids.

This round of CCF events will not be the last in Hong Kong. Supporters there are now working hard towards the formal registration of CCF Hong Kong, which it is hoped will launch later in 2011.
