In 2009, thanks to generous gifts from donors Bill Casey and Bob Tufts, CCF was able to establish a Community Medical Clinic. Located just near the former garbage dump, it provides poor people access to free basic medical care. Operating every day, the clinic offers free consultations, health treatment and medicine. The four-room clinic has two consulting rooms, a minor surgery room, a recovery area and a medical storage area. Its small veranda, which serves as a patient waiting area, is always crowded with people in need.

Four doctors treat more than 3,000 patients every month, as well as help transport emergency or surgical cases to area hospitals. Common ailments we treat range from skin diseases and chicken pox to hypertension, respiratory problems, infection and even knife and axe wounds suffered in domestic violence disputes.

Teaching good hygiene to everyone, from little pre-schoolers to the elderly, is one of the most important things we do. We supply underfed and malnourished children with nutritional weight-gain supplement drinks.

As well as treating patients, volunteer physicians hold weekly training sessions for CCF healthcare and childcare staff in First Aid, hygiene education and patient assessment.
