Children’s Fund (CCF) is a leading international NGO that contributes to social development by providing life-changing education, nourishment, and healing to vulnerable children from some of Cambodia’s most destitute communities. CCF operates in Cambodia through strong support relationship development and fundraising businesses in the USA, Australia, the UK, and Hong Kong. It has grown rapidly since its inception. To support its development, CCF is currently looking for a qualified candidate to fill the position of English Teacher (Floating) based in Phnom Penh.

English Teacher (Floating) leads and manages any classes that do not have a teacher. In addition, they assist with office administration work including checking and following up on students’ daily attendance, dealing with students’ behavioral issues, and any other tasks assigned by their supervisor. The candidate should be proficient in English, confident to teach a new class at short notice and be able to learn the curriculum well enough to substitute any class.

Key Responsibilities

  • Model the organization’s values and associated behaviors within the office.

  • Substitute a class when there is no teacher.

  • Facilitate the lab room when the e-learning facilitator is absent.

  • Assist with checking and following up on students’ daily attendance

  • Assist with dealing with students’ behavioral issues.

  • Assist in preparing Student Monthly Perfect Attendance Events for Satellite Schools.

  • Assist in accompanying students to meet Sponsor Relation Officers or external CCF activities and events.

  • Assist in Student Monthly Score Record as well as STL Student Monthly Award.

  • Prepare materials for a lesson when the teacher is absent.

  • Assist in collecting students’ official documents for Satellite Schools.

  • Attend professional development workshops and continually develop their English proficiency.

  • Ensure a friendly and positive learning environment for students.

  • Come to classes on time, prepare well, and communicate effectively with the regular class teachers

Requirements

  • Ethical and able to demonstrate CCF values in day-to-day work.

  • Bachelor's degree in TESOL or related field.

  • At least two years experience in English teaching.

  • English Proficiency (At least GEP Level 11A from Australia Center for Education or equivalent qualification) with excellent command of grammar, spoken fluency, and a wide vocabulary.

  • The ability to use, or quickly learn, to use G Suite, including Gmail, drive, docs, sheets, slides, and Calendar.

  • Good communicator, friendly, confident, and willing to ask for help.

  • Be punctual, honest, trustworthy, patient, respectful, and helpful.

  • High compassion and commitment to work with community people and children with a difficult background and home life.

  • Genuine enjoyment for helping students and a passion for teaching.

  • Working Days/Hours: 07:30 am-12:00 pm and 01:30 pm-05:00 pm from Monday to Saturday (full-time).
