According to the World Health Organization, almost half of Cambodia’s children suffer from malnutrition. The devastating effects of this deprivation are most cruelly seen in the nations high rate of infant mortality – 15% will not live to see their 5th birthday. Children who once suffered from severe malnutrition can fail to thrive in later childhood years, entering adolescence underweight and learning-challenged. Many of the CCF children are at a crucial age for intervention, and we are working to correct these deficiencies.
