Rohmeit Yellow
“Rohmeit” is the Khmer word used to describe Cambodian saffron - otherwise known as turmeric – the peppery spice used to color and flavor South Asian cooking. In recent years scientists have discovered hidden promise in this earthy member of the ginger family, applications that range from its use as an antioxidant and antibacterial agent, to beneficial properties for combating Alzheimer’s disease and cancer. Researchers continue to explore the wide-ranging possibilities of this unassuming plant - but we also love it for its vivid golden yellow color.
