In August 2007, CCF opened its fourth facility, the Sumner M. Redstone Children’s Center. Located on beautiful, spacious grounds just south of Phnom Penh, with plenty of trees and grassy areas where the kids can play, the Center's principal building houses classrooms, kitchen facilities, a health center and the children's bedrooms. A second building accommodates the CCF Star Bakery and Sewing Center.

Students at the Sewing Center study garment design and construction, a course tailored to ensure that the students don’t end up in garment factories, but instead have the skills to support their aspirations to design and make their own clothes – and possibly even have their own labels. It was in the sewing classes that the Srey Mean Chey tote bags grew from an idea to a design and, finally, to a reality.

Our Srey Mean Chey purse-making team consists of young adults whose ages (18 and up) place them outside the regular CCF programs, but who are still victims of the same hardship and abuse as our CCF children. They receive paid training in cutting, sewing and design, as well as general education courses in English and computers.
