Student of the Month

Sports activities – including soccer, karate, yoga, volleyball and traditional Khmer games – take place within our CCF centers and in Phnom Penh’s Olympic stadium. While the desire for fun motivates our students’ decisions to participate in sports, studies show that kids who play sports actually do better in school and have enhanced social skills. Improved fitness and coordination also allow our students to value their physical and mental accomplishments, gaining confidence that makes future challenges less daunting.

CCF athletes develop a sense of community through sports, and have the opportunity to take on leadership roles, handle adversity and improve their time management. Even when a given game is structured as a contest, the overriding spirit of our students playing is one of healthy competition and camaraderie.
