The CCF Excelerators Education program started in October 2009 to provide accelerated kindergarten classes to a group of 24 “graduating” students who were transitioning from our Daycare center into our more formal residential education system.
This tiny, energetic student body studies a broad range of child-centered kindergarten subjects, with linguistic development as a primary goal. Our Excelerators take part in Khmer and English language classes, but also enjoy structured play activities designed to increase their motor skills coordination and grasp of spatial relationships. Our students also experiment with different materials and methods in art and music. We encourage group activities within this curriculum, but we also promote our youngsters’ growing senses of independence and individual responsibility.
