Art education is a vital aspect of our education program. In these classes our students develop their creative skills and their imaginations – essential steps toward learning to express themselves, to escape abusive cycles and to find their places in society.

CCF students of every age are encouraged to study art and to express themselves through drawing and painting, both individually and as creative teams. Their joyfully expressive collaborations are exhibited in large-scale murals at our centers, and can be found in the folded paper mobiles that brighten our Nursery and Daycare rooms.

Our students also create and communicate through music, drama and dance, and dedicate two hours of daily training to these subjects.

From improvisation to scriptwriting to performance, drama and dance are fulfilling multiple purposes in our children’s education, healing and development. Our students are active in writing, choreographing and adapting scripts that cover key social issues such as domestic violence, substance abuse and environmental destruction. Performance arts not only encourage freedom of expression, but also facilitate social and historical education, teaching our students about issues relevant to their lives and the society they live in and ultimately helping to heal past wounds.
